Hello, I’m Bryanna, the founder of Trauma Doulas. My personal journey of resilience began after I survived a devastating house fire in 2018, which left me with physical, emotional and mental scars. Following extensive inpatient treatment and a long outpatient recovery, I came to understand how critical emotional and social support is for the healing process. This awareness inspired me to establish Trauma Doulas in 2021, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals reintegrate into society after traumatic experiences.
As a burn survivor myself, I empathize deeply with those who have faced trauma. My mission is to offer a safe space through the TD community; for clients to express their feelings, share their stories, and navigate their recovery journeys. I’ve dedicated the last few years to supporting others through various means, including volunteering, where I engage with burn survivors to foster community and healing. At Trauma Doulas, we work closely with clients, helping them rebuild their social connections through tailored programs and supportive workshops.
I believe that recovery is not just about healing the body but also about restoring one’s sense of identity and belonging. My approach is rooted in empathy, compassion, and active listening. I strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and understood, empowering them to take active steps toward reintegration.
Outside of my work with Trauma Doulas, I am passionate about raising awareness of trauma recovery and advocating for the needs of burn survivors and other marginalized communities. I continue to learn and grow, constantly seeking new ways to enhance my skills and expand my knowledge in social work and trauma-informed care.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we can create a supportive community for those navigating the challenges of trauma recovery.
